After earlier re-releases of the John Mayer albums 'Heavier Things' and 'Continuum' now it's time for Mayer's debut 'Room for Squares' to receive the Music on Vinyl treatment. This debut was originally released in 2001 and is produced by veteran producer John Alagía (known for his work with the Dave Matthews Band). It features clever wordplay, savvy chord progressions and mature songwriting. Songs like 'No Such Thing' and 'Neon' mix jazz chords with digestible choruses, fashioning a sort of brainy, college-educated pop hybrid that appeals to discerning listeners and mainstream fans alike. Mayer earned a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the single 'Your Body is a Wonderland'.
