Anne-Sophie Mutter & Pablo Fernandes - Brahms: Double Concerto & C. Schumann: Piano Trio

This album marks the first joint recording by violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and cellist Pablo Ferrández. At its centre is Brahms's Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102 — the composer's last orchestral work — performed with the Czech Philharmonic under Manfred Honeck. Coupled with this is Clara Schumann's Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 17, in which Mutter and Ferrández are joined by pianist Lambert Orkis, in a tribute to one of Brahms's closest musical companions. Released August 19, 2022 on Sony Classical, the album was widely praised for the artistic dialogue between the two soloists and for the rare pairing of Brahms with Clara Schumann's chamber masterpiece.
